Our Adventure Days programs add interactive excitement to summer vacation. Separate programs provide age-appropriate learning and activities for children ages 2–14.

Hatchlings
(Ages 2 & 3)
Hop, skip, and splash through two days of games and crafts that explore how animals move.

Wind & Wings Jr.
(Ages 5 – 7)
Take off on an adventure at the Exhibition Center’s first exhibit, Butterflies & Birds! Discover the Peconic Estuary aboard the Atlantis Explorer, learn about wacky weather, braying birds, and beautiful butterflies, and feed small parrots, meet a penguin, and have live birds visit your wing enthusiasts. Craft and snack each day.

Junior Explorers
(Ages 6–8)
There’s a whole world to explore…underwater. Participants will be guided on a marine adventure that will explore the hidden treasures of the sea. Meet horseshoe crabs and stingrays, seine for fish in local waters and take a ride aboard the Atlantis Explorer Tour Boat. Craft and snack each day.

Wind & Wings
(Ages 8– 10)
Discover the Peconic estuary aboard our Atlantis Explorer tour boat, take a nature trip to a wildlife preserve and learn about how Long Island’s weather effects the environment and the animals that live here. Take a birdwalk on our boardwalk to see some local inhabitants.

Explorers

Immerse your child in a marine exploration program. Explorers will collect and analyze organisms on the Atlantis Explorer Tour Boat. Also, go behind the scenes at the Aquarium and see what it takes to care for thousands of animals. Finally, get wet with a Snorkel Adventure.

Naturalists
(Ages 12–14)
Discover the aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems of Long Island! Using their five senses to experience nature, your child will hike in the Pine Barrens, engage in pond studies and paddle the Peconic River by canoe. Program in partnership with NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. Parents/guardians are responsible for drop-off and pick-up at various sites.

Adventurers
(Ages 12-14)
Experience some of the most exciting adventures that the Aquarium can offer. Throughout this team building experience, your Adventurer will climb a rock wall, swim in our snorkel tank and kayak on the Peconic River. For the ultimate thrill, end the week with a dive into our 120,000-gallon shark tank!
