 Touch Tank
At Long Island Aquarium, interactive adventure is part of the fun. That’s especially true at our Touch Tank. It gives children – and anyone young at heart – the chance to have a hands-on encounter with some of our residents including sea stars, clams, whelks, hermit crabs, and horseshoe crabs.
Fun facts
- Each sea star has hundreds of tiny tube feet that allow it to hold fast against the pounding surf.
- The horseshoe crab is a living fossil. It has remained unchanged for 200 million years!
